1. Being able to recreate dishes from America that are super tasty!!! Nick requested pineapple upsidedown cake for his first birthday is Kaz… WHA-LA!
**also, Mom’s bean dip… SO. GOOD.
2. Hosting Ghosty-s (A Ghosty is an event where people come to your house to eat and hang out). I LOVE LOVE LOVE this part of Kazakhstan! Sometimes people bring presents, but all the time they bring great company and fierce card playing competition!
3. CAMP GLOW!!! Camp GLOW is a camp for girls to teach them about leadership, how to live a healthy lifestyle, lots and lots and lots of things! It is probably one of the most awesome things I’ve done while in Kazakhstan. SUPER HUGE shout out to Emiko, Kaz 19, for starting Camp GLOW in Kazakhstan. This year there will be 4 or 5 held throughout the country!
4. Fitness in Kaz! I love sharing fitness in Kazakhstan. In both Satpaev and Zhez I taught aerobics 3x per week and now in Karaganda I’m teaching 5x per week (when it isn’t cancelled do to holidays or the over working of teachers/students!). It is awesome to see the girls struggle and over time become stronger and more fit! What was hard a month ago now seems like a piece of cake!
(plus, since they’re usually so tiny anyway, they see almost INSTANT results from lifting or dancing… it’s crazy awesome!).
5. Wrapping kids in toilet paper. Enough said.
