Well, it’s summer time. Lovely.
Last week was Camp GLOW and WOW. That is really all I can say about it. The team of volunteers that I worked with this year was just incredible. Besides working with my husband… I don’t think I’ve ever been on a better team, at least def. not in Kazakhstan. These women were strong, creative, interesting and above all the girls from the local area absolutely fell in love with each and every one of them. We would have volunteer meetings at night after the girls had gone to bed and two hours would pass before we would start to crash and realize we needed to sleep too! I am happy to say we turned a few volunteers into “woo” girls and their spirit and energy were just incredible. I couldn’t have asked for a more successful second annual Camp GLOW. I wouldn’t say it was better than last year because last year was absolutely fantastic in its own right, but this year was just phenomenal. I have posted a lot of pictures on facebook, but I will put a short slideshow of best moments on here as well. Enjoy!
Next up in the life of the Hubers is a three week trip to EUROPE! WOO! We are headed to Berlin next week for about 4 days and then off to Paris for about 7 then back to Berlin for about 5 days. We are really excited because we will be seeing my Mom for the first time in TWO YEARS in Paris! I can’t believe it!
Back here in Satpaev we are packing everything up in preparation for our BIG MOVE! We will be moving to Karaganda for our third year as Peace Corps Volunteers! We just got the news before Camp GLOW and our moving date is after we return from Europe! We are nervous and excited… but overall just happy to be here for another year. We can’t wait for new experiences in Karaganda and I am glad that saying “goodbye” to our Satpaev/Zhez friends isn’t final… quite yet.
Enjoy the pictures!
